Karla has more than 30 years of leadership experience serving Cooke County institutions, including her long tenure as President of the North Central Texas College Board of Regents. She is recognized for collaborative leadership and responsible decision-making.
Karla helped oversee the construction of the current North Texas Medical Center and has served on multiple regional and statewide boards. She has worked extensively with complex budgets, capital projects, and long-range planning. Her service includes leadership roles within the Community College Association of Texas Trustees. She also served on the Texoma Council of Governments Board. Together, these roles strengthened her understanding of public accountability and governance.
Karla has spent decades overseeing budgets, ensuring compliance, and guiding
organizations through complex financial decisions. Her background highlights a practical approach to managing budgets, processes, and day-to-day government operations.

Karla holds a degree in computer science with a minor in government from Texas Woman’s University. Her decades of service in higher education reflect a commitment to workforce development and long-term community growth.
Karla has lived in Cooke County for more than 41 years,
raising her family and building her business locally. As the
charter president of Red River Rotary, she helped establish
community service initiatives benefiting local families.
